Abstract

Telnet is an insecure protocol. It sends data in clear text. A method needs to be devised where telnet traffic can be sent through a SSH tunnel.

In the network setup, the telnet client and the telnet server is installed on different PC’s (Windows). The telnet client used to connect to the telnet server directly. Now, the communication between the telnet client and the telnet server has to be tunneled through the SSH client and SSH server. The different software components like telnet client, telnet server, SSH client, SSH server along with the necessary configuration needs to be identified and the concept demonstrated.
